Spotlight: Sabitha Shagabandi

Sabitha is an Operational Support Analyst at Kitestring.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work hours? I most enjoy spending time with my family, especially cooking for them. I am married and together we have our 3-year-old daughter. We are expecting our second child this coming year. I also enjoy spending time shopping at local shops.

What is your favorite part about living and working in NWA? I have visited 13 different states in the USA, and this is by far the best place to be. I have been here for 6 years now. Everyone here is so sweet and sincere. Everyone always has a smile on their face and is happy to help. The job security is much better here. There is far less traffic here than there is in larger cities, which allows me to spend more time with my family.

Tell us how you started down a technology career path. I am a Computer Science Graduate from India. I started my first IT job working for Amazon in India and enjoyed it from the start. Then, I got married and moved to Arkansas. My husband used to work for LJSA in the Point of Sale area for Walmart, and I always found his work to be so interesting. I have always loved learning new things, and I enjoy a challenge; therefore, I chose this career.

What are some future career goals that you have? I want to prove myself more. I am always striving to do better and grow as a person. I enjoy managing my team, and I think that the next step for me is to be become a Project Leader or Manager.

Tell us about some of your greatest accomplishments while working at Kitestring.

I recently received an award from Walmart for my excellent performance in my area. Before I received this award, my Technical Manager announced me as the Team Lead of my project. I am now the main point of contact for my entire team and I am responsible for the team’s progress. I have also become the main interviewer for hiring new hires to join our team.
