Q: Tell us about yourself!
A:
I’m from Myanmar and am the only software engineer in my extended family. I’ve been with Kitestring for a little over 3 years, working on the Walmart International Team.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: Games, movies, books, traveling, and hiking are fun things I love to do outside of work. I also love sports like rollerblading, table tennis, badminton, and soccer.

Q: What led you to this career? Were you influenced by anyone or anything?
A: I’ve always found the possibilities one can explore with just a computer to be truly incredible. Naturally, I ended up pursuing computer science.

Q: What are you most proud of accomplishing since joining Kitestring?
A: I recently shipped a huge credit card application feature that will be used by millions of shoppers every day. Months of hard work went into it, and I’m pretty proud of the result.

Q: What’s one thing – either industry-related or not – you learned in the last month?
A: Recently, I learned that sparkling apple cider doesn’t normally contain added sugars and is a great replacement for soda or regular fruit juice.

Q: What keeps you motivated?
A: Seeing my work have a positive impact on many people brings me joy and inspires me to continue building cool stuff.

Q: Where is your favorite destination to travel to, and why?
A:
So far, Ithaca, NY, has been my favorite. It’s a beautiful town with numerous trails along stunning gorges and waterfalls, especially enchanting in late autumn. Watkins Glen State Park is a must visit.

Q: What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?
A: I’m currently watching a kungfu C-drama called “I’m nobody”. It’s funny, and the fight choreography is decent. Next, I’m planning to read ‘Is It Really Green?’ by Georgina Wilson-Powell to become more familiar with the environmentally friendly choices I can make every day.

Q: Can you describe our company culture in just one word?
A: Proactive.
